Meet Theo Blum. Theo is a sophomore biology major with an emphasis in pre-pharmacy from Wahoo, Nebraska. He's also a member of the Football team. We sat down with Theo to learn more about him - in his words.

What brings you to Midland University and why?
I knew I wanted to play football. In the end, I chose Midland University because of the people. I left my visits knowing that professors and coaches would do everything they could to help me succeed. That was attractive for me.

What is your major and what inspired the decision?
I am a biology major with an emphasis in pre-pharmacy. I chose this major because I’m fascinated with how medications can be developed for a specific task in the human body. Also, in pharmacy there are so many different outlets for jobs.

What do you want to do once you graduate?
Once I graduate, I will attend Pharmacy school as I study to become a Pharmacist.

What is your greatest accomplishment since starting college?
My greatest accomplishment since starting college would be the advancements I have made in pursuing my future. During the summer before my Sophomore year, I took and passed the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board Exam which made me a Nationally Certified Tech. I was also accepted into a program called the Rural Pharmacy Practice Educational Initiative through the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Pharmacy.

Any advice for your fellow Warriors? Or what's the best advice you've ever received?
The only two limits to how successful you can be is how hard you’re willing to work and how much you’re willing to sacrifice.

How do you spend your time when not at Midland?
I work at Baker’s Pharmacy in Fremont, hang out with friends, and occasionally read about astronomy.

During mission day, where did you or where will you volunteer your time?
I went to the YMCA Summer Camp during Mission Day. Our group picked up trash all over the camp site.

If you could be any animal, what would you be and why?
I would be a bald eagle because eagles are unique in that they fly alone in altitude compared to other birds. So, they’re able to be different rather than follow what most birds do. Also, they are very patriotic - and I’ve always wondered what it would be like to have the ability to fly.

What’s your dining hall go-to?
The cinnamon rolls that they have some mornings are amazing.

If you could live anywhere, where would you live and why?
I would live in London. I traveled there on a school related trip my Junior Year in High School, and it was amazing. The amount of history and beauty in one city would be a wonderful place to call home.
