Appropriate and consistent use of our primary brand color palette and typography will enable greater recognition of the Midland University brand.

If you have any questions about Midland’s official colors or typefaces, please contact us at marketing@midlandu.edu.

COLOR PALETTE

When using color, defer always to PMS 158 C and PMS 289 C. A sharp degree of contrast should be applied along with the deliberate and liberal use of white space. The secondary color of Cool Gray 9 C, Cool Gray 1 C, and PMS 429 C should only be used in support of the primary palette. Black should only be used in body copy.

Choose spot values in coordination with a coated substrate for the highest level of quality. When unavailable, use CMYK values for all printed materials. RGB or Hex should only be used for digital/online applications such as websites, social media graphics, and videos.

TYPOGRAPHY

Midland University Fonts

Typography is an effective tool that adds visual tone to complement your message and help it stand out. Midland’s brand fonts reflect our personality and help reinforce our identity. All fonts are suitable for use in print and digital applications. Only approved brand fonts are permitted in marketing and communications materials.

To install these fonts, open the Google Drive folder and download the OTF or TTF files and install them on your own computer. If assistance is needed, please contact us at marketing@midlandu.edu.

Primary Typeface – Montserrat

The Montserrat type family is Midland University’s primary typeface and should be used for all marketing materials, including digital when possible.

This typeface comes in three variants and evokes the modernist style of the early 20th century, however, it feels less formal than, say, Futura. Montserrat really shines for short pieces of all caps and the geometric simplicity of the letters. In lowercase, Montserrat is still a great font with a nice large x-height and a lot more character than Arial or Helvetica.

Secondary Typefaces – Gobold + Amnesty

Gobold is our workhorse font. It consists of 28 styles and weights and is easily readable in both print and web applications. The combination of thickness and height makes Gobold perfect for headlines, posters, leaflets, name cards, and more.

Amnesty is a limited-use handwritten font that should be applied sparingly to add personal and artistic accents to your design. Given its playful qualities, Amnesty is ideal for prospective and current undergraduate audiences.

Note that fonts are licensed products and should not be shared without proper licensing.
