Caleb Malousek | Faces of Midland

10/28/25

Developing as a Leader |

Caleb Malousek remembers his initial visit to Midland University. But more importantly, Midland remembered him.

“On my first day at Midland, I had Nick Schreck (Dean for the Dunklau School of Business) as one of my professors. He remembered my name and recalled my visit to Midland. That left a big mark on me.”

In the four years since, Caleb has worked hard to leave his mark on Midland. He has been involved with numerous organizations and activities throughout his time on campus and was recently selected as a 2025-26 Who’s Who recipient. Just a few items on his list of accomplishments include Vice President of Student Senate, member of the choir and Clef Dwellers, Circle K International, and experience with Beta Sigma Psi, theatre, and speech and debate.

“I was very involved in high school, and something I think is important is to try and get out of your comfort zone and experience new things. Getting involved has allowed me to meet so many new people and helped me grow and mature as a person.”

Caleb’s maturity also stems from his involvement with DeMolay, a nationwide Masonic organization for boys ages 12-21 with the mission of shaping young men into leaders of character. He was elected as a Nebraska Junior State Councilor in his senior year at Wahoo High School and eventually would serve as state president.

“It helped me develop into a leader and mentor not just at the state level, but internationally. DeMolay’s core values are to become a better man and be a better person for society. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the people and community that helped raise me.”

Spending this past summer as an intern with Farm Bureau Insurance in Wahoo has helped him lock down a full-time position awaiting him after graduation. While it may not be in line with someone majoring in Digital Marketing, he is keeping his options open as he looks to the future.

“I’ll be selling insurance, as well as working in financial planning and helping people prepare for their futures.  When I was younger, I didn’t want to be a salesman, but I’ve grown from the opportunities I’ve been given and want to hear people’s stories and be able to help them. Working with DeMolay helped me understand the value of marketing, and I’ll still be able to use Digital Marketing in my work.”

He has plenty of his own stories to tell from his time at Midland, and hopes to create even more as he prepares for graduation in May.

“I have enjoyed my experiences at Midland and am looking forward to being able to reflect on those memories and enjoy my last year. Midland is built on good people working to put you in the best situation to succeed.”

Caleb Malousek is a senior Digital Marketing major from Wahoo, Nebraska.
