Midland University FBLA-C Squad Ranks Among Nation’s Best at Leadership Conference
Midland University FBLA-Collegiate students once again proved they are among the top business students in the nation during the FBLA-Collegiate National Leadership Conference May 31-June 2 in Dallas, Texas.
Approximately 1,200 students representing schools from across the nation, including schools from the Big 10, Big 12, and ACC, competed at the event, which also featured workshop sessions, guest speakers, and networking opportunities with some of the top business professionals from across the country. Midland was represented by 13 students at the event.
Rita Bristol, Associate Professor for the Dunklau School of Business, serves as an advisor for the team along with fellow business professors Erik Hoegemeyer and Lynn Schnoor. Bristol, who was awarded Outstanding Local Advisor during the conference, said Midland students continue to thrive at the national level.
“I’m truly impressed by our business students who represented Midland at the National Leadership Conference,” Bristol said. “They faced incredibly tough competition from across the country, but their hard work, professionalism, and determination stood out. They not only competed with excellence, but also showed everyone the kind of talent, character, and leadership our program is known for. I’m so very proud of each one of them.”
Midland was recognized with the FBLA-C Outstanding Chapter award as well as being named as a Distinguished Chapter and Gold Seal Chapter.
The team of Dylan Amick, Amy Dosch, Ryan Hanson, Cali Cordova, and Kiera Holland earned first place in the Stock Market Game, which took place throughout the 2025 spring semester.
Brodie Arnold placed second in the Job Interview category, as did Pampa Raffin in International Business. Raffin also finished seventh in Computer Application.
Amick, Ethan Smith, and Tasha Baxter combined to finish fourth in the Community Service Project category.
Abby Spidle finished sixth in Parliamentary Procedure and 10th in Business Communication while Aiden Walswick with 10th in Impromptu Speaking.
Other Midland students who competed were Matthew Canales, Max Duckwiler, Sydney Guthard, Jasper Mpofu, and Lucas Rivadeneira.
“The outstanding final results of our students is a reflection of the work by the outstanding DSOB faculty,” Bristol said. “It is through their dedication, and excellent teaching skills that our business students were well prepared for their competitive events, and did so well in the competition. Overall, it was a job well done by everyone involved.”
