Lexi Kraft | Faces of Midland

Begin With a Grateful Heart

“Begin each day with a grateful heart.” Starting each day accepting what you have and where you are, instead of what you don’t have, leads to a rewarding experience each day. Lexi Kraft works to make sure she keeps this mentality throughout her own daily life.

A sophomore at Midland, Lexi is a sports marketing and management major and a member of the women’s basketball team. Having played basketball since she was three, Lexi’s love for basketball was one of the many reasons why she decided to attend Midland.

“I decided to come to Midland because of the close-knit family, it was a perfect distance from home, and I loved my coaches.”

While one of Lexi’s proudest moments at Midland was starting her freshman year, she also takes great pride in making the Dean’s list. For Lexi, being a Midland Warrior is about being a good representative of her school in both areas as a student-athlete.

“Being a Warrior means a lot to me. It is about having pride in the school I go to.”

After graduation, Lexi wants to hit the ground running and enter into her career right away. She is eager and excited to find out where she ends up.

“My post-graduation plans are to find a job right after college and to settle down wherever that is at. My dream job is to manage a professional sports team.”

Given the opportunity to go back, Lexi would make sure to never give up on something she couldn’t accomplish, even if it seems impossible. You miss out on many opportunities if you decide you can’t do something, and Lexi encourages incoming freshmen to consider this and not to be afraid to reach out for help.

“Be prepared to be busy, and never be afraid to ask questions or ask for help.”

Lexi Kraft is a sophomore sports marketing and management major from Omaha, Nebraska. To share your story or nominate a friend, email social@midlandu.edu or post using #FacesofMidland.
