Offering flexibility and limitless opportunities in a career path, Cassie Kenedy has discovered that Midland University Graduate + Online is the ideal place as she pursues her Doctorate of Education (EdD).
Cassie was connected with Midland University through an ESL Endorsement program with OPS. After completing the endorsement, Cassie made the decision to continue her education and pursue her online doctorate in education through the EdD program.
“I appreciate how Midland sets up their online programs. On top of teaching, I also coach a high school swim team, so I need a program that allows me to be flexible with my life.”
As a High Ability Learner facilitator with Omaha Public Schools, Cassie is able to teach a course called Honors Special Projects at each grade level. “Within the classes, there is a lot of flexibility with what to teach, so I can direct the learning towards what the students are interested in and what challenges them, which is something that I love about the role that I have.”
She has discovered that the many possibilities for a potential career in education are awaiting her as she builds experience and awareness by earning a doctorate in higher education. “I know this program is going to open doors for opportunities, connections, and knowledge that I would not have otherwise. This program has the most amazing professors, and the connections I have made with other cohort members has been awesome. It has already helped me in so many ways in my career, including leadership skills and confidence.”
