Walker School of Education
Walker School of Education
At Midland University, preparation of teachers is philosophically grounded in the liberal arts and aligned with Midland University mission, “to learn and lead in the world with purpose.”
Mission
The Walker School of Education's mission is to prepare educators to demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and dispositions needed to build a culture of learning, understand content, plan and deliver effective instruction, support ALL learners, and model professionalism. To fulfill our mission, we’ve created courses of studies that include general liberal arts courses, core educational coursework, and endorsement specific coursework. Through these experiences students will gain field experiences in the beginning and throughout their program. Students will have a culminating clinical experience for each field or subject endorsement.
Benefits of Our Programs
By enrolling in one of our programs, future and practicing teachers will become influential in students' lives, inspiring and motivating them to achieve their potential. By pursuing a career in education, our students will benefit society as a whole. At Midland University, we believe the impression you make on the individual in the classroom continues onto the next generation.
