Accommodations Process
The Student Accommodations Office is located in Luther Library. The Student Accommodations Specialist works directly with students who have a documented disability and are seeking accommodations. Most students who request accommodations have used similar support resources in high school or at their previous college. If you have a student in your class with document accommodations, you will receive email communication about those accommodations from the Student Accommodations Specialist.
However, sometimes a student may have never been diagnosed with a disability prior to attending Midland. Often it is a faculty member that notices or learns of this potential disability. In those cases, encourage the student to contact the Student Accommodations Specialist for a healthcare provider referral. Once accommodations are recommended and documented, the Student Accommodations Specialist will contact faculty via email with the student’s specific accommodations.
This brief video provides an overview of the accommodations request process.
