At Midland University we are committed to seeing you be successful and reach your full potential in both your academic and co-curricular endeavors. One of the ways we demonstrate this commitment is by offering a perfectly tailored scholarship to each student who attends Midland.

But what makes MidlandUArts different? You can receive a significant scholarship in any area of the arts while pursuing any degree path of your choice. With the financial support backed by a team of professionals, your academic and performance future truly is limitless.

Learn more about the audition requirements for a MidlandUArts scholarship in your area of the arts!

Art & Design

You will interview with a member of our Studio Arts staff either in person or via video. You’ll be asked to discuss your interests, experiences, and prior participation in studio arts. Please provide a portfolio of your past works.

Collaborative Piano

Please prepare a solo piece of your choice. You will also be asked to sight-read excerpts of the following genres: choral open-score, musical theatre, and standard vocal and/or instrumental classical literature. You must audition in person.

Dance

Bring at least 60 seconds of prepared choreography in any style of your choice (ballet, jazz, hip hop, etc). You will also be asked to demonstrate front and side battements (straight-legged kicks), pirouettes on the right and left sides, and a leap of your choice on the right and left sides.

You may submit an audition in person or via video. If you are auditioning in person, music should be brought on a Bluetooth or aux-compatible device.

Instrumental Music

You will be asked to play whatever you play best. Whether that is a solo piece, a selection from your concert band music, marching music, or even scales, bring what you love to play. You must provide your own instrument, except for percussion instruments, and tubas (please provide your own mouthpiece).

You may audition in person or via video.
