Mary Ball, Ed.D., earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Human Resources and Family Science from University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Master’s in Adult Education and Distance Learning from University of Phoenix and a Doctorate in Education focused on Higher Education and Adult Learning from Walden University. She has worked in a variety of settings focused on education and training, ranging from k-12, higher education and corporate. She has spent over 10 years in developing educational and training materials for adults focusing in subject areas such as Early Childhood Education, Education, Psychology, and courses related to Instructional Design and Educational Technology. 

As Director, Center for Teaching Excellence, she managed areas focused on Instructional Technology, Instructional Design, Online Learning, Institutional Quality and Assurance, Testing Services, Accommodations and Diversity Council. She coordinated and managed Faculty Development workshops and collaborated with other higher education institutions to meet training needs. She provided student experiences focused on how students can work with diverse populations.

As an Instructional Designer, she works daily with faculty in creating content for online, web enhanced and face to face courses. She is certified in Quality Matters and consults with faculty on building online courses based upon adult learning theory and research based findings. She also serves on a committee focused on best practices of E-Learning and its role at a college.
