Midland to waive ACT/SAT scores for 2020 high school graduates

Mar 26th , 2020

FREMONT, NEBRASKA - As high school seniors navigate through unique circumstances due to COVID-19, Midland University is working to ease some of the concerns for students as they prepare for college.

Midland announced that it will waive ACT/SAT scores for spring 2020 graduates as a requirement for acceptance. Midland will work with each student individually on an acceptance plan.

“No student will be denied acceptance to Midland University because of the unfortunate circumstances around COVID-19,” Merritt Nelson, Vice President for Enrollment Management and Marketing, said.

The university also announced that the deadline for deposit refunds has been extended from May 1 to June 1.

Midland has postponed all on-campus visits but will be offering a live, real-time virtual visit beginning Tuesday, March 31. Visits will be interactive and include an admissions presentation, a virtual tour of campus, a live student panel with a Q&A session, and an academic appointment with a faculty member.

“Midland has been on the front end of this global crisis, setting national trends, and developing precedents by building innovative solutions. We continue to pivot quickly and provide alternative opportunities for high school students to pursue their college dreams,” Nelson said.
