Midland University Honors the Past and Looks to the Future During Homecoming 2018

Midland University will welcome past, present and future Warriors, as well as community members during Homecoming 2018 celebrations in September.

Celebrations kick off Friday, September 28 with an Admissions Open House at 9:00 a.m. in Kimmel Theatre where prospective high-school students can come to campus and discover what it means to “Be A Warrior.” Current Midland students will celebrate “Warrior Day” on campus with interactive games, food, and a golf cart decorating contest starting at 11:00 a.m. on the campus green.

Friday's events continue with a campus tour at 11:15 a.m. starting at the Anderson Complex, followed by the Athletic Hall of Fame Ceremony at 5:30 p.m. at the Fremont Golf Club. Award recipients include; Dr. Steve Bullock, Baseball & Football, Class of '93, Valerie Reiman, Softball, Class of '04, Chris Strehle, Football, Class of '05, and Chase Manstedt, Track, Class of '08.

 The Coronation Ceremony & Pep Rally announcing Homecoming Royalty will take place at 7:00 p.m. at the Sidner Ice Arena, followed by the Women’s Hockey game at 7:30 p.m. against Lindenwood University - Belleville.

A Planetarium and Laser Show will be hosted by alumnus, Jack Dunn, Class of ‘69 at 7:00 p.m. at Kimmel Theatre.

Festivities will continue Saturday, September 29 with the Golden Warrior Reunion for Midland Class of 1968 at 9:00 a.m. located on campus in the Private Dining Rooms.

Midland will welcome alumni, friends and community members to the annual pre-game football tailgate at Heedum Field starting at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Tailgate participants will enjoy food, drinks and live performances by the Midland University pep band, cheer and dance teams.

Also located at Heedum Field will be the “Milestone” Alumni Tent for Classes of ‘68, ‘78, ‘93, and ‘08 for Midland alumni to gather and reconnect for pre-game fun. Photos and giveaways will also be included at the tent.

In true Midland tradition, the Warrior Football game will kick off at 1:00 p.m. at Heedum Field, challenging the University of Jamestown.

Additional Warrior athletic events on Saturday include Women’s Soccer against the University of Jamestown at 5:00 p.m. at Heedum Field, Women’s Hockey versus Lindenwood University-Belleville at 5:00 p.m. at Sidner Ice Arena, and Men’s Soccer challenging the University of Jamestown at 7:30 p.m. at Heedum Field.

Homecoming events continue through Sunday, September 30 beginning with Homecoming Worship at 10:30 a.m. at Sinai Lutheran Church to honor the institution’s Lutheran roots with performances by the Midland University Choir.

The Alumni & Legacy Luncheon will take place Sunday afternoon at 12:00 p.m. at the Fremont Golf Club to honor alumni award recipients. Charlotte Erickson McConkie and Colleen Willert Dilley, Class of ‘61 will be recongnized with Alumni Achievement Awards. Alberto, Varas, Class of ‘03 will receive the Distinguished Young Alumni Award, Kristine Spracklin Roberts, Class of '07, will receive the Outstanding Young Alumni Award, and Dr. Caryl & Shirley Steyer Family will be recognized with the Distinguished Midland Family Award.
