At Midland University we believe sports help students learn lasting life lessons and build rich character. With 31 varsity sports, Midland is home to the largest athletic department in Nebraska. Midland University Baseball has been one of the premier teams in the GPAC. The Warriors have reached the postseason championship game in five consecutive seasons. Midland won the 2014 postseason championship, the 2016 regular season title and the 2017 postseason crown. The Warriors also reached the NAIA National Championship Opening Round for the fourth time in four years in 2017.

Coed Cheerleading

Midland University Cheer has won the GPAC championship in three of the past four seasons. The Warrior cheer team has also won the NAIA North Qualifying Competition three years dating back to 2014. Midland is one of just two colleges in Nebraska that offers collegiate stunt cheer, and the only university that gives out substantial men's and women’s cheerleading scholarships.

Coed Dance

Midland University Dance won the inaugural NAIA Competitive Dance National Championship in 2017. The Warrior Wildfire are also a three-time NDA National Champion, having won two of those titles during the 2015 season in NAIA Small Dance Division and Divison III Hip-Hop. In addition to its national titles, Midland is the four-time defending GPAC dance champions.

Midland University became the first college in the state of Nebraska to offer eSports as a varsity sport in 2016. Midland competes in the Collegiate Star League and opens its state-of-the-art eSports Arena on campus in 2017.

Midland University Football is committed to excellence both on and off the field. The Warriors increased their win total by six games in 2016. Last season, Midland had 18 players named to the All-GPAC Team, four NAIA Scholar-Athletes and one CoSIDA Academic All-American.

Men's Basketball

Midland University Men’s Basketball has established itself on the national scene over the past few years. The Warriors are a staple in the NAIA Top 25 Coaches’ Poll and have appeared in the NAIA DII National Championship Tournament in four of the last five seasons. Midland won the 2014-15 GPAC Postseason Championship and finished as the NAIA DII National Runner-Up in 2013-14.

Men's Bowling

Midland University Men’s Bowling was added in 2010 and has quickly become a powerhouse at the national level. The Warriors have reached the all-encompassing United States Bowling Congress (USBC) Intercollegiate Team Championships every year since the program’s inception. Men’s & Women’s Bowling will compete in “Invitational Status” at the NAIA level beginning in 2017-18.

Men's Cross Country

Midland University Men’s Cross Country has been a part of our school for more than 50 years. Runners at Midland travel the country to take on the region's top courses. We have plenty of men’s cross country scholarships available for student-athletes who love to run.

Men's Golf

Midland University Men’s Golf is a rising force within the GPAC Conference. A member of the Warriors’ team has finished in the Top 2 individually in the GPAC in each of the past two seasons. Our student-athletes travel to compete at the region’s top courses, and there are significant men’s golf scholarships at Midland. In 2016-17, Midland led the NAIA with six Scholar-Athletes and led the nation in G.P.A. during the 2015-16 season. 

Men's Ice Hockey

Midland University Men’s Ice Hockey began in 2014-15. The Warriors have increased their win total in each of the program’s first three seasons, and was ranked in the ACHA’s Top 25 for a majority of the 2016-17 campaign. Midland also reached the ACHA DI National Championship Tournament in 2017 for the first time in program history. The Warriors play to capacity crowds at Sidner Ice Arena.

Men's Shotgun Sports

Midland University Men’s Shotgun Sports was added in 2013. In 2016 the Warriors took second place at the ACUI National Championships, and in 2017 won the Division 2 National Championship. Student-athletes train and compete under four-time Olympian and former U.S. Olympic Coach Bret Erickson. The program specializes in trap and competes in sporting clays, skeet, and five stand.

Men's Soccer

Midland University Men's Soccer has played for the GPAC championship in five of the past eight seasons, winning in 2011 and 2013. The 2015 Warriors set a program record by winning nine straight games en route to an appearance in the postseason semifinals. The 2016 Warriors became the program's first team to win a game in the NAIA National Championship Opening Round.
