Midland students enjoy Open Skate Night at Fremont YMCA

Dec 18th , 2012

Midland University recently teamed-up with the Fremont YMCA to put on “Open Skate Night”. The event, which took place in the YMCA’s Sidner Ice Arena, allowed students to spend the evening skating for free on the Olympic-sized ice rink.

“This was a fun night for everyone,” said Lori Ethier, Midland University Assistant Director of Student Life. “We are lucky to have such an amazing resource available to our students, and we’re thankful for the YMCA’s part in helping to coordinate the event.”

The night of ice-skating is an example of a longstanding partnership between Midland University and the Fremont YMCA.  The second largest YMCA in the nation, Fremont’s YMCA features four full-sized gymnasiums, an aquatics center with two pools and hot tubs, five indoor tennis courts, a 10,000-square foot wellness center, an air-conditioned fitness studio, three racquetball courts, a fully equipped gymnastics center, a track and the Sidner Ice Arena. Additionally, membership to the Fremont YMCA is free to all Midland University students, faculty and staff.
