Midland prepares for return to in-person classes

Jan 14th , 2021

Thanks to the diligent efforts of students, faculty, and staff, Midland University was able to successfully navigate through a challenging fall semester. The opportunity to continue with and participate in student life activities and events, residential living, in-person classes, and extracurricular activities gave Midland students a sliver of normalcy in an otherwise abnormal and unprecedented time. Midland is currently hosting interterm classes virtually but is ready to welcome students back to campus for the spring semester. Midland is planning to return to in-person classes on the Fremont campus when the spring semester begins on Thursday, January 28th. Classes will be offered in person, with hybrid and online learning options under certain circumstances.

“Coming together in residence and community is a hallmark of the Midland experience, to which we remain deeply committed,” Midland University President Jody Horner said. “We are better together and we are looking forward to a great spring semester.”

In its continuing efforts to work through the COVID-19 pandemic, Midland has altered its spring schedule to work towards a safe and successful semester. There will not be a spring break for students this semester. This was a difficult decision to make, but it will allow the university to end the semester a week earlier than usual. The final day of regular classes will be Friday, May 7th and final exams will take place May 10-13. Students will receive an Easter break, which will feature no classes on Friday, April 2nd and Monday, April 5th.
