Midland University opened its doors to the community for a Halloween celebration on Monday. The university welcomed over 300 kids and their parents to campus for Midland’s All Halls-O-Ween and Trunk or Treat event. The collaborative institutional event provided parents with an opportunity to bring children to Midland for a night of trick-or-treating.

“The Halls-O-Ween and Trunk or Treat event was a huge success,” said Lori Ethier, Midland University’s Assistant Director of Student Life. “We had a great turnout from the community, and the extra buzz on campus was fun for everyone involved. The Midland students really enjoyed getting into character and interacting with all of the children. We are looking forward to a bigger event with even more candy next year!”

The Trunk or Treat activity, put on by eight college student groups and the Sinai Lutheran Church, allowed students to hand out candy from Halloween-themed automobiles lining Logan Street. Students added to the atmosphere by participating in the Halls-O-Ween event, where they decorated residence halls and handed out candy to children from festive dorm rooms.

All-in-all, approximately 50 rooms participated in six residence halls. The Sinai Lutheran Church also provided families with hot coffee, juice and pictures of the costumed.
