Midland to host Grow 'n' Share event

Apr 8th , 2013

Midland University will host the second annual Grow ‘n’ Share event on Saturday, April 13. The event is for people with disabilities, middle school age and older, and those who would like to be in ministry with people with disabilities.

Dr. Courtney Wilder, Assistant Professor of Religion at Midland University, will serve as keynote presenter. An instructor in Christianity, philosophy, and Bible, Wilder has published and presented numerous scholarly papers on disability theology.

Additionally, the day will feature a variety of workshops, including groups headed by leaders in Nebraska Synod congregations who have experiences in ministry with people with disabilities. Activities from the Nebraska Center for the Education of Children who are Blind or Visually Impaired and a wheelchair obstacle course will also be available.

This event is for families, pastors and youth ministry leaders as well as all members of the community. Registration is $15 (including lunch), and free registration is available to those accompanying someone with disabilities.
