Beginning on Thursday, Nov. 1, Midland University Arts will feature The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, a one-act musical comedy. All-in-all, five showings will take place in Midland’s Kimmel Theatre, with performances running through Sunday, Nov. 4.
The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, a Tony Award winning musical written by Rachel Sheinkin and conceived by Rebecca Feldman, centers on a fictional spelling bee set in a geographically ambiguous Putnam Valley Middle School. The show is known for its uniquely interactive structure, with four real audience members being invited on stage to compete in the spelling bee alongside the six characters every night. It is a fun and upbeat show that will have audiences rolling in the aisles.
