Transfer Policy

We accept transfer credits from hundreds of accredited colleges throughout the country. What this means for you is that all of your hard-earned credits can be easily transferred into Midland! In addition, we have Articulation Agreements with select colleges to ensure maximum transfer of associate degree credit to Midland’s bachelor programs.

Midland accepts military credits; veterans will need to submit a copy of their DD-214 and official military transcripts for Registrar review. Official CLEP and Advanced Placement (AP)  test results can also be submitted for credit. The final determination of all transferable work is made by the Registrar’s Office.

College credits that are completed at an institution accredited by one of the regional accrediting associations (North Central, New England, Middle States, Northwest, Southern, or Western) may be applied toward a degree at Midland University provided the transfer course(s) correspond reasonably to those offered at Midland. Here are other guidelines for transferring credit:

  • Minimum grade of “C-” or above*
  • Courses over 100 level
  • Maximum of 72 credit hours from community or junior college
  • Credits from a four-year institution are not limited; however, the last 32 out of 40 credit hours must be completed at Midland University

Students with an Associate of Applied Arts Degree typically do NOT need to complete Midland’s general education core. However, all students are required to have their official transcript reviewed by the Office of the Registrar for final approval.

Acceptance of credit from unaccredited institutions cannot be assured, although exceptions are made in the case of certain special purpose institutions such as Bible colleges accredited by the American Association of Bible Colleges, and nursing schools accredited by the National League for Nursing.

*Credits earned on the P/NC grading scale will not be transferable.
