College of Health Professions – School of Nursing

Nurses are often at the top of national surveys as the most trusted of professionals. As patient care evolves and becomes more complex, higher educational levels are needed to prepare nurses for leadership, teamwork, collaboration, and specialized knowledge in every area of nursing. Midland University’s Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing prepares students for entry into this dynamic and exciting career and for continued success and advancement.

Students at Midland University can expect to receive a balanced blend of liberal arts courses designed to enhance the nursing program’s science and clinical practicum courses. Social studies courses help the student recognize and appreciate diversity in the patient population. Ethics courses provide a platform for developing strong decision-making skills based on Christian principles, and arts and other elective courses complete the “whole person” picture.

Clinical training begins in the sophomore year and continues throughout the entire program. Faculty work with students using the best technological tools available to prepare nursing graduates to complete the NCLEX nursing licensure exam.
