Midland University holds 42nd nurse pinning ceremony

Twelve Midland University School of Nursing graduates received their pins during ceremony on Friday, Dec. 16, at Sinai Lutheran Church.

The pinning ceremony represents the culmination of a student’s collegiate training and the earning of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. During the ceremony, a symbolic welcoming into the nursing profession, each of the graduates received a Midland University nursing pin.

The event was Midland University’s 42th pinning ceremony.

Graduates who received their pins were:

Michaela Bigsby of Omaha, Nebraska, who is the daughter of Keith and Michele Bigsby.

Kiley Helgenberger of Fremont, who is the daughter of Dan and Lori Dunn.

Elizabeth Hornig of Elkhorn, Nebraska, who is the daughter of John and Joan Hornig.

Daniela Jenkins of North Bend, Nebraska, who is the daughter of Daniel and Lili Jenkins.

Tiffany Kraft of Omaha, who is the daughter of Daniel and Stacey Kraft.

Janelle Krings of Tarnov, Nebraska, who is the daughter of Melvin and Kathy Krings. She also received a Service Award.

Heidi Lesiak of Columbus, Nebraska, who is the daughter of Chris and Sally Krzycki.

Jamie Leversee of Louisville, Nebraska, who is the daughter of Mike and Cheri Leversee. She also received a Service Award.

Courtney Melanson of San Diego, California, who is the daughter of Ron and Stephanie Melanson.

Donovan Morris of Fremont, who is the son of Tom Silva and Karen Laver-Silva MD.

Lauren Ortmeier of Dodge, Nebraska, who is the daughter of Steve and Mary Ortmeier.

Zacil Sanchez of Schuyler, Nebraska, who is the daughter of Pedro and Cristabel Arcos.

In addition to the 12 who participated in the ceremony, three other students recently completed Midland University’s online RN to BSN option. Those were:

Patti Eriksen of Hubbard, Nebraska.

Abdurahom (Ray) Samiev of Omaha.

Joan Wiedel of Fremont.
